Turned Beautiful

Lizzy, after I fixed her ponytail for her at the park: "Wow, we came to the park and turned beautiful!"

She also stole my sunglasses, and informed me she looks much better in them than I do!

"I'm 5!"

Lexi: "Lizzy, you can't climb on there."
Lizzy: "You did."
Lexi: "Well I'm 13."
Lizzy: "Well, I'm 5!"

"Spoil Lizzy Night"

I'm quite the gourmet cook.

Tonight, I pulled out the fancy mac and cheese, and found stuff in the fridge to make pizzas on the grill.

Apparently, those are Lizzy's two favorite foods in the world.

Lizzy, upon realizing what was for supper: "Oh my gosh! Is this spoil Lizzy night? This meal is awesome!"

Velveeta shells and cheese = "fancy" mac and cheese

Happy Last Day of Being 10

I forgot I had this video on my phone...
The night before Jake's 11th birthday, we had a campfire and Lizzy sang a very special song to Jake...

A Barbie Story

This was supposed to be a thank you video for Uncle Scott and Auntie Shelly. Lizzy wanted to show them everything she bought with the birthday money they sent.

It quickly turned into a very long Barbie story.

I finally had to cut her off - but if you have seven and a half minutes, it's kind of entertaining!

Not Impressed

Lizzy, as we were getting ready to leave her cousins' house after two days: "Mom, good thing we're leaving today, because I don't think Kaden's brother would be impressed if we stayed!".

FYI - Kaden is Lizzy's cousin. "Kaden's brother" is also Lizzy's cousin - she just can't ever remember his name!

Internet Star

Today the girls and I ran into a friend at Wal-Mart. As we were visiting, she told Lizzy how much she enjoys Lizzy-isms.

Big mistake.

Lizzy, a short time later while staring at the nice grandma in line behind us at the checkout: "Mom, ask her if she reads Lizzy-isms."
Me: "I'm not asking her that."
Lizzy, to the nice grandma: "Um, do you read Lizzy-isms?"
Nice grandma: "I don't know what that is."
Lizzy: "Well, I'm Lizzy and I'm on the internet.  My mom writes Lizzy-isms. It's all the funny stuff I say and do."
Nice grandma (who we just met): "Well, I bet she has a lot to write about!"

Punky Brewster

I recently read that our greatness is not defined by what we wear.

That's too bad.

Because I think what Lizzy wears does define her, and how great she is.

She is confident, comfortable, and practical.

Check out the outfit she sported today (the hair-do is all her doing too!):

Embarrassing

Me: "Lizzy, you have a little whipped cream on your face."
Lizzy: "Oooh! No wonder my chip was sticking to my face. Thanks for telling me. Or else that would have been embarrassing!"

A Prayer

Lizzy, after trying to haul Morgan on the back on her bike, looking up to heaven: "Please, God. Could you make Morgan a little not so heavy? She's killing me. I just want to lay in the grass for 82 minutes!"

A Pest

The girls and I were visiting with our neighbor this afternoon. He's an older, retired, widower, and one of the nicest men I know. He told me a funny story about a visit he had with Lizzy a few days ago:

Steve: "Hi Lizzy. Would you like an ice cream bar?"
Lizzy: "Um, no thanks."
Steve: "Really?"
Lizzy: "Well, I do want one, but my mom told me not to be a pest, so I better not."
